Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookies are soft, rich, and indulgent cookies that combine the classic comfort of chocolate chip cookies with the creamy, slightly tangy flavor of cheesecake. These cookies have a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture thanks to cream cheese in the dough, while chocolate chips add sweetness and familiar comfort. They are perfect for dessert tables, holidays, or whenever you want a cookie that feels extra special without being complicated.

Ingredients
½ cup cream cheese, softened, ½ cup unsalted butter softened, ¾ cup granulated sugar, ¼ cup brown sugar, 1 large egg at room temperature, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1¾ cups all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon baking powder, ¼ teaspoon salt, 1½ cups chocolate chips.

Preparing the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar and continue mixing until light and well combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix just until incorporated, creating a smooth and slightly fluffy mixture.

Combining the Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing gently just until a soft dough forms. Avoid overmixing, as this keeps the cookies tender.

Adding the Chocolate Chips
Fold the chocolate chips into the dough, distributing them evenly so every cookie has a good balance of chocolate and creamy dough.

Chilling the Dough
Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Chilling helps the dough firm up, prevents excessive spreading, and improves the final texture of the cookies.

Baking the Cookies
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop small portions of dough and place them on the baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are set and lightly golden while the centers remain soft.

Cooling and Serving
Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. The cookies will continue to set as they cool, becoming soft and chewy with a creamy interior. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips for Best Results
Use full-fat cream cheese for the richest flavor and best texture. Do not overbake, as these cookies are meant to stay soft in the center. Chilling the dough is important for shape and texture.

Storage
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or in the refrigerator for up to five days. They can also be frozen for longer storage and thawed at room temperature before serving.
