Ingredients
Scale:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup sour cream
8 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecans, chopped and toasted
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with sour cream. Mix just until combined.
Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until fluffy.
Once baked, cool the cake in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly on top of the cooled cake.
Sprinkle toasted pecans generously over the cream cheese frosting.
