Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, eggs, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Mix until well incorporated.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the donuts are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
While the donuts are cooling, prepare the lemon glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, lemon juice, and zest in a small bowl.
Once the donuts are cool, dip the tops into the glaze and place back on the wire rack to allow excess glaze to drip off.
Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving.
