A rich and moist chocolate loaf cake with a subtle hint of vanilla, perfect for chocolate lovers. This easy recipe uses simple ingredients to create a decadent treat suitable for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, alternating with milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. If desired, top with chocolate frosting or glaze for added sweetness.
