  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, approximately 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
  4. Stir in the taco seasoning, ensuring the ground beef is evenly coated.
  5. Mix in the black beans, corn, and diced tomatoes. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. In a large casserole dish, spread half of the crushed tortilla chips as the base layer.
  7. Layer the beef mixture over the chips, spreading it out evenly.
  8. Cover with dollops of sour cream, then sprinkle 1 ½ cups of shredded cheese over this.
  9. Add the remaining tortilla chips and cheese on top.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling, and the top is golden brown.
