Instructions

  1. Prepare the ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for tender meat. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Create the marinade: In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.
  3. Marinate the ribs: Place the ribs in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the honey garlic sauce over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Reserve the remaining sauce. Marinate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat and prepare: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Lay the ribs on the rack.
  5. Cook the ribs: Cover the ribs with foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours or until the meat is tender and pulls away easily from the bone.
  6. Make the sticky glaze: While the ribs are baking, pour the reserved marinade into a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the sauce, stirring constantly until thickened.
  7. Apply the glaze: Remove the ribs from the oven. Brush generously with the thickened honey garlic sauce. Return to the oven uncovered for another 15 minutes to caramelize.
  8. Grill for flavor: For an extra layer of flavor, grill the ribs on high for 5 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
