Minced Meat Sausage Rolls are a delightful treat that can elevate any occasion, from casual gatherings to festive celebrations. This recipe combines the rich, savory flavors of minced meat with flaky puff pastry, creating a comforting and satisfying snack that everyone loves.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound of minced meat (beef, pork, or a mixture)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
1 teaspoon of paprika
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 egg, beaten (for binding)
1 package of store-bought puff pastry (2 sheets, thawed if frozen)
1 egg, beaten (for brushing on top)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced meat, sautéed onion and garlic, thyme, paprika, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and the beaten egg. Mix until well combined.
Roll out one sheet of puff pastry on a floured surface to a rectangle about 1/8-inch thick. Cut the pastry into halves lengthwise.
Place a line of the meat mixture along one edge of each pastry strip, leaving a border on either side.
Carefully roll the pastry over the filling, encasing it completely. Seal the edges by pressing them down with a fork.
Cut each roll into 3-4 pieces, seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is p■ and golden brown.
Allow the sausage rolls to cool slightly before serving.
