There's something undeniably comforting about a freshly baked apple cake, especially when it can be whipped up in just ten minutes with only four apples. This recipe is perfect for those who crave a warm, moist dessert without spending hours in the kitchen.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk (or milk with a tablespoon of vinegar added)
4 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
Create a well in the center of the dry mixture and add the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk. Stir until just combined.
Gently fold in the chopped apples, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
